I have a small garden and these markers are the perfect size.The metal stake is not too long, but still sets firmly in the soil. I have tried larger stakes like this in the past and found that if your soil is rocky, the longer prongs can bend if you hit something, and the larger plates are just too noticeable during winter months. These give me enough room to include all the information I need without being too obtrusive among the plants.
The only fault is that like larger markers of this type, the name plate wants to slide down the prongs. I just bend the plate end at more of an angle once the plate is in place.
