I am very satisfied with these little pots for starting my flower and vegetable seeds under grow lights indoors. They are easy to fill with germinating soil (I use a small spring handled ice cream scoop) and it's easy to keep track of water needs by making sure the little pots are damp.I line them up in sheet cake pans, which hold the water. The pots wick up the water and seem to keep the soil at just the right moisture level. If the pot tops dry out, I can see right away that I need to add more water to the pans.
I'd give them 5 stars except that I've not had complete success transplanting them directly in the garden and having them biodegrade. My seedlings seem to acclimate better and grow faster in the garden if I cut the pots off before transplanting, but that's not hard to do and I feel they've gotten a good start in the peat pots up to that point.
They certainly are easy and cost effective to use.I've tried several methods to start seeds, but these little pots have worked the best for me.
